Printing Standards

Fine Art & Photographic

The purpose of our standards is to maintain the high quality of our finished products and promote confidence in the quality and life of our printed products.

LightFastness

We use Epson ultrachrome inks on all our archival photographic and fine art prints. These inks have the highest life rating of all Giclée inks currently on the market. UltraChrome ink offers outstanding durability, so prints are more likely to look good for longer on a wide range of paper types. The ink is highly light, gas and water resistant, resulting in a lifespan of up to 75 years in colour and over 100 years in black & white (far more than 6 on the Lightfastness Scale (Blue Wool Scale))

Lightfastness test conditions (Indoor Display Condition)

Light source:

Fluorescent light

Intensity:

70,000 lux

Temperature:

24°C

Humidity:

60%RH

Glass mount:

2mm, soda lime

Fade criteria:

Pure YMC 30% Loss at OD=1

Display-life Calculation: Total illuminance/(500 lux x 10 hours x 365 days = 1 year)

* The data is calculated by Epson’s accelerated test and it does not mean Epson guarantee periods. Tests developed and conducted by Epson.

pH of Substrate
Most of our papers are PH neutral AND acid free including ALL of our photographic papers and fine art papers.
Our foam mount board is ACID FREE not just ph neutral, and our mount board is archival grade… Papers are glove handled to avoid contamination & marks.

Weight of Substrate

Since most of our prints are mounted, we use heavy photo grade papers of 220 - 250 gsm, with higher weights available for fine art papers if required.

Limited Edition

The artist who owns the copyright of the print defines the maximum edition size we use.  Our own limited editions of our own copyrights are limited to 300. No part or the whole of a print published as 'limited edition' will be reproduced in any other form, not cards, calendars, etc. worldwide, except for the sole purpose of promotion, eg in a brochure, sales piece etc., or in a book

Banner, SIgn & Poster Printing Standards

The purpose of our standards is to maintain the high quality of our finished products and promote confidence in the quality and life of our printed products.

LightFastness & Water resistance

We use Mutoh ULTRA eco-solvent inks – which has an incredibly high (UV) fade resistance and 3 years weather proof, and scratch resistant. We only use original manufactures inks to ensure quality, colour and fade resistance

Substrate
Our substrates are branded top-line media designed specifically for the inks we use and for the applications stated. We have especially sort out reliable makes with good prices, and media with special properties like the fabric re-enforced banner vinyl which although is lightweight, is stronger than most heavy weight vinyls.

Colour
Poster and banner printing utilizes high saturation colour for boldness – but we also offer colour matched printing  for consistency of logo colours and other colour sensitive printing including picture graphics included in banner & posters - Pantone colour references accepted.
